When the idea first came to me to arrange 100 pairs of Air Force 1s in the colors of the Hungarian flag with rope laces, I knew it wouldn't be easy. But I didn't think it would require so much time, energy, and patience.
I did all of this completely alone.
The first step: preparing all the shoes
Rope laces are thicker than factory laces, so the first task was to individually punch every necessary eyelet on all 100 pairs of shoes. This alone took hours.
Only then could the lacing begin.
It wasn't just a few pairs of shoes, but a hundred. I laced about thirty pairs at a time, then moved on to the next batch. For each shoe, I made sure the laces were positioned identically, because I knew that was the only way it would look truly good in the end.
Hours went into just the preparation and lacing.
When everything was ready...
Finally, the moment arrived to arrange the 100 pairs of shoes in the pattern of the Hungarian flag.
Only this one step remained.
And then it started to rain.
I stood there with hours of work completed, but unable to finish the project. I had no other choice; I had to pack everything up.
Honestly, it was very annoying.
I started over the next day
The next day, I went back, unpacked all 100 pairs of Air Force 1s again, and started setting everything up once more.
This time, I succeeded.
When the Hungarian flag, arranged in red, white, and green, finally came together before me, all the effort I put in was worth it. The sight I had envisioned finally became a reality.
Why was this project important?
Many people only see the end result in a video or a picture. Those few seconds when everything looks perfect.
However, few see how many hours of work are behind it.
Preparing, punching, lacing, transporting, arranging 100 pairs of shoes, and organizing the entire project as a single person was an enormous task. That's why I'm particularly proud that I managed to accomplish it.
For me, this wasn't just spectacular content, but proof that with perseverance and a lot of hard work, even a simple idea can create something truly special.
This was my biggest rope lace project to date, and I am sure many similar challenges await me in the future.
